Memory is inconsistent. While this monolithic passageway is indelibly imprinted on my brain, its details remain elusive. When I first recalled it for an earlier sketch, I remembered the vertical slits on each side that extended from the steps to nearly the rooftop. But, when I created this drawing, I had completely forgotten about them.
